I recent purchased a book published in 1907. The condition was far from brilliant, though I must say that was part of the reason for getting it – for the princely sum of £2. The attraction was not only to discover those Edwardian studies of wildlife (and how much knowledge we’ve gained since), but to repair the spine. With any luck it may last another 100 years.
Yes, it takes me longer than others to achieve a task, especially when a tremor decides to make an appearance, and always at the wrong moment! But as I was told all that time ago – ‘If you don’t use it, you lose it’.
